Summer is a season where we usually become very energetic and want to do and enjoy more, so the money that may have been carefully saved in other months may disappear at an incomprehensible rate.
And not for nothing in the summer I want to do more – the weather is warm and we want to replace sitting at home with warm evenings outside in cafes, traveling, cold ice cream cocktails, etc. To keep summer away from all of our savings and money, we’ve compiled 6 tips to save you summer!
1. Spend more time outdoors than indoors
Don’t sit at home when the weather is sunny and the sun is warming! Take walks along the hiking trails, forests, lakes, seashore! Walk the Dog or Bike!
Not only will going out in the open air give you even more energy, but it will also allow you to take in much needed vitamin D, as well as change the environment after such a long winter. When sitting at home, you can only consume electricity in front of a TV or computer and “sit in” if you don’t move too much.
Better choice – go to outdoor concerts, city holidays, swim in rivers, lakes, take advantage of the opportunity to read a book on a warm summer evening in the backyard park.
Unless your activities require you to buy something, such as a new bike, then consider borrowing, but only when you need it and know that you will definitely be able to repay. A consumer credit is an option to split your payment into monthly installments, thus preventing you from spending much more in one month.
2. Gym or sports outdoors?
If the time is up, you can pamper yourself by saving on a gym subscription and going out in the morning or evening.
Similarly, you can go to the park or go for a green sport. A gym may be suitable if I am interested in doing mandatory strength training or activities that you definitely cannot do without a trainer or appropriate equipment.
3. Small garden
Many municipalities and even Riga have small gardens where you can rent a garden for a very minimal annual fee. Here you can sow greens, beets, cucumbers, cabbage and even grow a delicious and big pumpkin in a compost pile.
In productive summers, don’t be afraid to pick berries and greens for the freezer and apples for a tooth and a dose of vitamins. In addition to the possibilities of a small garden, you can also grow greens on the windowsill, which will save you a lot of money by buying them in the store, and always have a hand in the making.
4. Picnic or cafe?
If you have to choose between a picnic and a cafe, then summer’s preference should be for a picnic in the open air – it will not only save you money, but also feel a light breeze, a sense of freedom and a more uncommon sitting.
5. Open-air cinema
Pull out an extension cord in the garden, find a great movie on your computer or on the Internet and set it up in an outdoor cinema garden! You will not spend a single cent going to the cinema, but will create your own evening entertainment space. The cinemas of the open-air cinema are also taken care of for a cozier viewing of the movie!
6. Open the curtains!
Opens the curtains – allows light to enter all rooms. Not only will you feel much more summery and improve your mood, but you’ll also save on electricity in this way. Summer evenings are bright, and unless you allow the light to enter the room for as long, next month’s bill should be pleasantly surprised by the savings.
Treat yourself to summer as much as you can! Looking for more opportunities to be active, or just go out in the sun or shade – the warmth of the sun gives our body the energy and power that can lead to more power to work, get up early and feel much, much better than in the bleak winter!
